The standard 18-55mm lens does some nice close up shots of the figurines, but I need a better DOF for that close up. The short DOF is nice for some shots, but in others I rather not have it. Any suggestions on lenses(Macros?) or just technique?

But, to follow Cyber's previous post your going to need LOTS and LOTS of additional light sources, softened or diffused to prevent reflected highlight hotspots, to have enough light to stop the lens down to f/11-f/16. Get more light. Soften it. Stop lens down. Have fun. J.

The Zords may not be quality figurines, but I don't feel like getting more finger prints on my limited edition Eva Unit-01. Canon EOS 70D

On the other hand with the white parts and flash you'd be walking a fine line between underexposed,. and blown highlights.. Just a little more and some of the white parts do become blown out.
