I upgraded from LR1 to LR2 about a month ago. When I upload pics from my camera, they automatically load into LR1, and then I have to update my library to get the pics to LR2. My question is, how do I make LR2 the default when uploading pics? Please bear with me, I'm still new to PP and I'm not great with computers. Thanks.

Uninstall LR1? Probably the easiest, most direct, and most advisable solution.

otherwise...

Windows XP

In Windows XP, your default import setting must be adjusted on a device by device basis:

1. Connect the import device (your camera or card reader) to your computer.
2. Double-click My Computer on your computer desktop.
3. Right-click the listing of your import device.
4. Select Properties.
5. Click the Autoplay tab.
6. Select 'Pictures' from the content drop-down menu.
7. Choose from two possible actions:
* Select an action to perform: Select an application to handle import by default each time photos are detected on the specific piece of hardware.
* Prompt me each time to choose an action: Choose an import application each time you attach your hardware.
8. Click Apply.
9. Click OK.

Windows Vista

Windows Vista allows you to set a global import preference for all photo or videos files.

1. Click Start > Control Panel.
2. Select Autoplay.
3. Under 'Picture' or 'Video,' select your default import program.
4. Click Save.
