Red Rock Canyon

This is my first post to the boards and I really want to get some feedback. Please share your comments and critiques.

This is from Red Rock Canyon just outside of Las Vegas. It was shot with a 30D with a 17-40L at f/11 and 1/125.

Biggest thing wrong here is use of Vertical or Portrait orientation with a landscape scene.

It's nice, well exposed, has good color balance, and an element of 3 dimensionality in that there are interesting elements at all distances.

Other than that it is just a good picture. The easiest way to make it more interesting would be to have a human or an animal to give it scale and to add interest.

I like the way my eye climbs the rock face! Stunning blue sky also - did you use a polarising filter.?

Actually, no. The skies were a really deep blue naturally. I was pretty surprised how blue the sky came out without having to use the polarizer.

Those are beautiful. Where is that bridge? We just drove the "scenic route" and stopped at most of the locations along that.
