I left work at 1pm Friday, and made it to his house around 4ish.... I got introduced to his furkids. Kasey and Cedar. SWEET SWEET dogs! We spent some time with the pups at his house before we headed out to dinner. After dinner we came home, watched movies and hung out with the furkids. It was very comfortable. Stayed up til almost 2am talking, watching movies, etc. *some details omitted* The next day we slept in, went out for a late lunch, and did some errands he needed to do but couldn't because of his foot... Saturday evening, we went to his friend's house. Had a bon fire, hung out with his friends, and had a little bit to drink... Fortunately no DD required as his friends live down the street from him Word is that his friends really liked me and gave him a two thumbs up We stayed up really late again that night talking once we got home... Wow oh wow the things we talked about... It was such a great great weekend... *select details omitted* giggle This morning we stayed at his house talking some more... and then went to grab lunch before I left town... Leaving was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard for both of us... I even had a hard time saying bye to his dogs... They were such sweet pups! I made it home and have taken over nursing my sick buddy... Alex has been sick all weekend. My parents are AWESOME! They took great care of Alex... he's going to the doctor in the morning... I'm exhausted... Glad you had a wonderful weekend, you sooooo deserve it! Lisa, sorry about your friend. I don't even have words to say how badly I feel for him and all those close to him. She doesn't have Alzheimers. She has suffered from severe severe depression for at least 15 yrs (or more). We have taken her to many doctors...tried many medications etc...over the years and nothing seems to help her. Finally moved her in with my Aunt, who is a nurse and runs a home for mostly eldery folks. She seemed to start getting better recently, so moved her back home. That lasted about two days and she really took a down turn. Seems she can't handle being alone (read "total panic"). So, moved her back with my aunt. Now we are considering moving her to an assisted living. Her depression has somehow triggered alot of other phobias etc... and we are just at our wits end in how to help her anymore. There is ALOT more to this story, but this is a very brief explanation. Sorry to hear about your Mom Paula. Hope the assisted living does good for her. Thank you for the laughter this caused.
