Hey B, love these - just for some C&C, IMO, the first shot needs the top third cropped away because the power-lines are (surprise, surprise) ruining it. Like the rest though, and you could even push the PP further and use some kind of "dated image" script to add some "stain marks" or something like that.
And the tram, if it were me, I'd go in the opposite direction and maybe even do an HDR....

Cheers mate! The tram is actually a mono conversion of an HDR! I processed it pretty lightly, though, as I didn't want to overdo it.
I'll follow your advice and crop the top of the first one off and see what it looks like. It's only down the road, so it's probably worth going there again and trying a closer shot.
Damn cables......

Don't I know it?!??!?
Anyway, I think it's a shot you could really play with, so have fun with it.

Meanwhile, I can't remember if you're using GIMP? If so, upgrade to version 2.6.8 - it's yummy!
:D

I'm using Gimp and Elements 8, so I'll upgrade Gimp.

In the meantime, it's pissing down here and getting pretty humid, too!
Is it June already??!!:eyes

All those pictures of the snow back East were getting depressing...

Took a hike today to a nearby vineyard. Nice sunny 67 degrees here today. The wild flowers and mustard are just starting to come out.

Ok I'll play :)

Taken less than 2 miles from my house. Found this dam in the middle of the woods.

This one is less than 10 minute walk from my house. It's at the end of my favorite walking path where I take the dog. One night I brought a tripod and took a self picture:

Well, it's been a while since I did a walk-about, but a few of us decided on a meetup in Seattle. We took a lightrail train to the heart of downtown and started walking. I'm not sure at what point we hit a mile in our hike, but here are some of our encounters. My bunch of shots are here:

There were plenty of street musicians

Hey Tony, thanks for adding some more - and getting out there with some fellow 'togs walking and photographing.

I have to say, Seattle looks really interesting. And that shot with all the street signs looks like a crazier version of Japan!

And @ Patrick, thanks for joining in the fun and perhaps, the most "eco-friendly" thread currently ongoing in POTN!

Love the first shot you posted, and the night self-portrait shot is good too, though you clearly were wobbling a bit due to the long exposure ;)

Keep 'em coming guys, and keep getting out there with as little mechanical assistance as you can manage!

Heh! I just managed to claw my way back to this thread -- thanks guys! Simon, Seattle is definitely a fun place to visit! We're planning another meetup there sometime in summer, and some of the same bunch is talking about one down here in Portland, which also has some fun photo ops.

Claw your way back?
I'd hope that as the weather improves soon around the globe, I/we can encourage even more POTNers to join in with the sound-as-a-pound idea!!!

And as to Seattle - I'd love to visit some day, though I'm not sure I could cope with the bad coffee there....

Thanks mate, though I hope the "issues" aren't serious!
I'm hoping to go to the local volcano tomorrow (if the weather holds) so I'll post some pics later in the week, too!
Catch you soon...
