Well, I suppose that this should count.

We had walked about 2 miles before seeing Wiggo come past in the 2012 Olympic road race.

That's a really interesting shot

At first glance, I thought, "Huh?!" but as I scrolled the screen down, I saw that the huge OOF blob hiding half the image was, in fact, the finest flag in the world, fluttering in front of the cyclists!!!!

Hoorah!! :-)

Thanks so much for posting the shot!

Simon

I walked up to the tower on Sunday and passed this little guy goining about his business.

That's a wonderful shot of the birdie!!!
Didn't know you had a 5D3 and 600mm lens, either! Very swish!!!

How's the 5D3 working out for you?
Has Canon got it right?
100%.....or almost 100%.....?

And @it's me, you keep on coming up with great shots of "our" country.
I'm jealous, but finally, after we finish moving apartments this month, I'll be in a prettier location with more to photograph again (like when I first started the thread!), and not stuck up on top of a "mountain", which means it's always uphill, on the return leg of any "walk/cycle" trip I tried to make.

Cheers for now,
Simon

Thanks Simon. Yes I bought the 600 lens last year at an almost reasonable price for bird photography...and lost a lot of pics through the rather poor AF on the 5D2. Not that it isn't accurate, but tracking was a nightmare for me.

And is the 5D3 better? You bet it is! Almost 100%, and the bit that's missing is probably in the fellow driving it. I mean, I don't know how much better a camera could be with the present technology, but I know I could be better!

Image IQ is not "better" enough to make the change....but for action it certainly is.

Very interesting read, Ricardo.
The Canon pros I work with are now looking at the 5D3 or 1DX as the next upgrade, while the Nikonites are giving the D800 a miss.
So, maybe Canon did get it right with the 5D3!
Yay!
:D

And I hear you about the 600L.
I simply can't justify that beauty while we've a young baby, and plans for building a house/studio/concert hall.....but boy! I'd love one.
