This was my first WRC event I've been to, and am glad I went. I used my 5D and 70-200 F4 IS. I took almost 400 pictures and am happy with most of them. A lot of the pictures seem a little redundant to me as it's the same turn / car position, so I haven't put very many up on my page. These are mostly crops with minor adjustments. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

I envy you! Photos look nice, the Adapta Subaru on the super special is my fav!
The snow there is amazing, snowbanks as tall as the cars themselves. Good work!

First shot of Henning is nice, but focus seems to be front. I like Jari-Matti's picture, light is excellent.

Nice to see the cars flying but I like them all.

I hate to be critical but most of these are soft and look quite noisy, which is strange considering the near perfect light available. What settings were you shooting at?

Thanks everybody for all the feedback. The highest ISO was 640 with F4.5 (number 6, this stage also had a lot of fire smoke blowing across). They were all taken using AI Servo, evaluative metering, and IS set to panning mode. Most of the others on this page are 200 F 4.5 or 250 F6.3. I don't really see the noise myself. I agree that some are a bit soft. But I wanted to have a bit of variety, so I chose some of those anyway. There was almost always a fine snow dust that came by a while after the cars, but I really doubt that was still lingering around by the time the next one came by.

I know this one came out quite sharper than most of the ones I posted here.

What about input in terms of placement, composition, etc,? Should I have tried some different settings? Is it possible the cars were faster than the camera could compensate for? The only thing I wasn't that happy with was having to redo the white balance (I shot the gray card at the beginning of every stage, but it was almost always off).

Nice action in the shots and composition, on the whole, fine. I normally shoot TV mode at 1/320, just to keep some motion in the wheels.
