It's not "being shut down" as your title indicates. As indicated in this news article (external link), the Canon logo was removed from the blog as demanded and now the hosting company (Wordpress) is refusing to shut down / censor the blog as requested by Canon.

Although a parody, the blog has also been a source of news.

To expand upon this quote:

What in the heck is wrong with Canon? Do they really think that trying to shut down a parody blog is going to make their new 5D Mark II ship any faster?"

from the SlashDot article, I will say that I agree and would suggest that Canon stop wasting time worrying about insignificant blogs.

Instead, perhaps they should consider taking a few of those lawyers and puting them in the inspection area of the Research and Development Department. Perhaps a few extra eyes would have caught the black dots images that slipped by the R&D personnel and were posted on Canon's own website.
