**UPDATE**

So me and my girlfriend decided to take a few pics during valentines day. Alot of the pictures I really didnt care for, mainly because I just feel like I just dont know what I am doing. I try following all the rules but still get so many terrible results...maybe I am just being my worst cridic. I took this with one reflector on the right and flash on camera for fill. Lemme know what you all think :)

If you want...post some of the ones you're not thrilled about and I'm sure some of us would be more than happy to give you some constructive pointers.

cheers!

It's a tiny bit hot on the right side of her face, but it is a nice image.

yeah thats one of the things im not sure about how to fix cuz if i make her face the opposite side of the sun then i will just be shooting right into the sun...how do u counter that?

I agree... What time of day did you shoot this?

I'm no pro and I'm not sure it could be done with a reflector. With a flash I guess the objective would be to try to get the other side of the face as bright and then bring the exposure down in the camera.

You might have had more "even" light if your GF had stood in the shade of that tree we can see in the background. On a real bright sunny day - sometimes out in the sun is the last place you want to be.

About the only use you could put a reflector to is use it to block out the direct sunlight on the models face, thereby creating the shade that I suggested above.

Its a good photo though, well framed and looks pretty sharp to me, and you have a DOF that blurs the background nicely. Your doing a good job, keep taking the pictures!

Is that my imagination or can I see a circular flash reflected in her eyes?

Some of these new shots are very good... I think the second and third images are better than the first... She's a very pretty girl, you are a lucky guy.
