Thank you. Main light slightly to camera right (Vivitar 285HV) from above into a big umbrella and fill (430EX) through a medium shoot-through umbrella camera left, a little behind her.

Nice conversion. Its well lit but my only nitpick is the strong shadow next to her nose. Other than that, I really like the shot

Thanks for the C&C. The shadows add all important contrast and depth, but I agree with you. I couldn't decide what to do with the highlight on that side of her face, I tried burning it into one big shadow or into a rembrandt light look, but in the end I liked it better as is.

I like it, nice simple pose, excellent lighting. Don't ask me why but I feel it should be in a magazine selling jeans ^^ (if it was full body).

I agree with you. Shadows are very important especially in B&W pictures. I didnt say that there shouldnt be any shadows.
I was thinking maybe the rembrandt light look would work but obviously it wouldnt as you have tried that.
Its just difficult to know is something going to work until you see the final image.

It didn't fit the mood, rembrandt lighting looks a little too formal for my tastes, and it didn't quite go with the casual mood of this shot. You and I are thinking along the exact same lines though ;).

:lol::lol: Thanks Brian! Turns out the MUA for this shoot actually did Vlada's makeup for a runway show once. You still haven't told me what your shoot with her was for, those shots were great :D.

Nice shot! I would of liked to see some more legs =D But maybe it wasn't the style you were going for.
