Got some shots of a Northern Harrier waiting for something to eat, and an immature baldy munching on something to eat. The Kestrel was a bonus for the day. Thank you for taking time to view the shots! C&C always welcome.

Most harriers I see are fairly skittish--this one posed even with the 580EX flashing repeatedly.

He's got a duck under his talons--unfortunately the ground material blocked the view.

Taking a bite.

Another bite, and a shot of the other side of the bird

I appreciate the pose Mr. Eagle!

Good-looking Kestrel on a sign.

Wonderful shots there Dennis.

My fave would have to be the Kestrel....we don't have anything like them here in N.Z. (only have an 'import' common harrier and our one and only native raptor, the N.Z. bush falcon). Beautiful coloured background and bokeh on the Kestrel shot.

Matt.

Great series Dennis. Love the little Kestrel. Was he thinking of sharing with the eagle?

Really excellent series---maybe from Ridgefield? If so, magnificent job from your vehicle---I have to get up there again, it's so good for photographing many bird species, but I doubt I'll be able to get the quality you show here---well done!!

Yes, Ridgefield--birthplace of U-Haul! (I have no affiliation with U-haul, just stating a bit of trivia!)

Jim, yes, you gotta get back up here. Today the Harlan's hawk accidentally dropped a rodent from his talons into Rest Lake and immediately an eagle came down to snatch it off the water surface. I haven't checked the photos I took of it yet but I'm not real optimistic that I captured the action well. If I got anything decent though, I'll post it.

To all who looked and kindly commented, thank you so much--it is greatly appreciated!
