Avoid. Too good to be true is always a scam in electronics.

If they have a lower price than Amazon, Adorama.com, and BHPhotovideo.com, then it is a scam.

I purchased most of my equipment from B&H. Great service and speedy delivery. Also you can try Adorama or Amazon. All have good customer service and competitive prices. Good luck!

I haven't looked at Ebay for awhile now but last time I looked, the cameras came bundled with a bunch of accessories which were for the most part cheap and useless. hopefully some more people with Ebay experience will chime in. I'd check the reputable online dealers I listed above first, make some comparisons and go from there.

Thanks.. alrighty have those sites opened and reviewing them! :) My budget is that i'd like to stick at under $1000 , closer to 850 or so... Which would include the camera and the accessories i need... I mainly photograph my kids in action (1yr and 3yr old) and then when we go out , i pretty much photograph everything (i have had a blog for 3yrs now) SOO i am trying to get 1 extra lens also along with any other accessories... any advice on what package to get that would stay in that budget? I have been told to get the camera with the lens kit and also the 50mm 1.8 prime i think it is as a second lens for 85 dollars??? what do you think?? Then what other accessories would i need??

I think for a first kit you should aim for:

- a decent camera body
- one general zoom lens (like the kit lens)
- a faster prime, like the 50
- a flash with a swivel head like the 430 EX II
- and a bag to hold it

Forget the filters, lens hoods, etc, all that extra stuff that they might try and include in a kit to up the apparent value. I don't know much about the Xs/Xt series so I can't recommend a specific one, but if you have to, hold off on the prime lens if it lets you get a better body. It may keep you from wanting to upgrade a bit longer.

Look into used bodies right here on POTN, there are plenty of 20D, 30D, and Xti, Xsi cameras that go for hundred less than new. Lenses to for that matter. Find one that looks well taken care of and buy from a user with feedback and you should be good to go. I found an Xsi kit with an extra OEM battery, 16 gig card and less than 1000 clicks for 500$ right here in the for sale ads.

As for an extra lens, A nice prime with a big aperature such as the 85/1.8 or the 50/1.4 and a longer zoom such as one of the 70-200 lenses would round out a kit well.
