Looking pretty fine over here. I've got three CE freq ones sitting a foot away on the desk and won't have time to play with them until tomorrow :-(

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

All our house stuff arrived from Perth, and I'm madly sorting it. We're also running out of light tonight. Will play with them in the morning.

It looks like highlight recovery on the tree fringes.

that is the 85L.. i don't shoot with the PW's that much.. i normally shoot with the alienbees and shutter speeds under 200, but i wanted to blur out the back ground on every shot at the park.. thus the need for the PW's..

bokeh with the 85L and trees and leaves makes weird looking swirls. but look at the water.. it is so smooth..

.....hmmmm....and don't take this wrong, I was not trying to be critical of your work....it's just that to me, the bokeh looks odd enough that my eye is drawn to it rather than the subjects. Obviously, bokeh is a subjective call, so I'm sure that look appeals to some folks. As I've stated in the past, I've seen some really creative and technically good shots you've done....so I'm certainly not trying to slam your work.

On the subject of using the PW's in ETTL....I've been playing around with 'flash on a stick'....putting the 430EX on a monopod with the flexTT5 hooked to it. For grab-n-go shots, with a little more creative lighting angle, this seems to work well with the 1D2 in "P" mode. You know what they say....."P" stands for professional....;)

george,

i never took it that way.. ever..

you had a valid point.. clumps of trees blurred never looks good..

interesting flex on a STICK.. what will be next? ha ha..

seriously.. you must have an assistant then?

I slip in like a thief in the nite.........

RADIOPOPPER MOUNTS ARE IN!!! Jrx system starts shipping in 12 days -- order can be place august 20th!!!

What can the radiopopper do?

1) Full ETTL control of canon flashes
2) Full Manual remote control of canon flashes
3) No velcro required -- bracket mounts directly to flash
4) Jrx system gives shooter full control of White Lightenings, Alien bees, and NIKON and VIVITAR and SUNPACK FLASHES from on board the camera....

You can now mix ABs, Canon ETTL, and any other TTL light with full control from the camera..... NO MOVING ABOUT...... CHIMP AND ADJUST right from the shooting position!!!!

and they work at hundreds of feet -- no grounding or little sleevey things required!!!

Man, I can't tell you how much I love these things. They are pure bank. And the best part is that they LOVE 580 EX Is. I stared buying those instead of the 580 EX IIs.

mattograph - do you know if you will be able to manually control Canon flashes with the JrX system?
