It's where my wife is from, it's the capital city of Pangasinan province and is predominantly a fishing town...

I particularly like the way you've made a rather ordinary scene into something quite special in the case of the third one. Others are very pleasant travel shots.

The flair is simply fantastic on the third.

Should of busted out that 100-400 and done some birding on those white birds out there;)

Thank you yoyoer! All of these shots (except the last one) were actually done while riding in a moving vehicle...I thought of doing just that believe me, but when you are in a car full of family it's hard to ask them to stop and wait while I set up a camera and take images.

One of the unfortunate things on my trip this year was that I didn't have a car of my own and we were always at the mercy of someone else's time schedule. As I'm sure those who have been to the P.I. can appreciate, everything is about ten times more complicated there. ;)

Have you seen the Japanese Zero Fighter Plane and a US Tank that was on display at the back of the Capitol before you enter the beach. Gen Mc Arthur landed at Lingayen beach during WWII also.

Actually it's not a Zero...it's an American T6 Texan. The Filipinos labeled it incorrectly and nobody bothered to correct them. I'm sure because having a Zeke on display is much more sexy than a American training plane...;)

my mom is from the neighboring province of La Union. We're heading to Manila in two weeks, plus a side trip to Cebu and Bohol. Can't wait. I've been perusing the various threads for travel lens suggestions. I plan on bringing the 10-22 and 17-55, but that leaves me without any zoom capabilities.
