Has anyone figured out how they were holding the camera? The best I could figure it that they have something screwed into the tripod mount at the bottom of the camera. Almost like an extremely short monopod about 6-8" long. If you look at the reflection in his mask you can see that he's not holding the camera directly and he's not holding onto any type of large steady cam rig. Thoughts?

look at the reflection in his goggles, I think it it was handheld

Camera was mounted in a modified monopod and handheld. He had a nylon bag to cover the camera, too.
