You are going to be very happy with it. I have the Canon 10-22 and can say that the 2.8 aperture is the only thing I am jealous of. Tokina makes a nice product.

If you must know...

Its a very nice lens. I rented one last summer and loved it.

The only thing you will have to get used to is the focus clutch mechanism. I found myself forgetting the lens was in MF and trying to AF ('duh!), thats the only thing you'll need to get used to. Its an awesome lens.

That was the main reason to buy the Tokina.

Tokina came out with the 11-16 F/2.8 based on the success of their 12-24 F/4. Same design. I have the latter and love it. I previously had the Tamron 11-18 and sold it and went with the Tokina. Great, great lens.

I ultimately went with full frame but love the little Tokina so much I couldn't bear to sell it! Now when I am travelling, not shooting for hire but just for fun, to travel light, I will take the grip off my 40D. I take it, my Tamron 28-75 and the Tokina in my pocket. Tremendous walkaround combo.:D

You will love it!

My Tok 11-16 works with my FF 5D. Basically it's a 16mm prime.

Yes... very fine lens.

Yes I readed somewhere that they reached 13-16mm with it on FF.

Thanks all for the positive reactions!

MPCman, if I will, you're the first I'll contact ;-)a

Understood. I have mounted the Toki 12-24 on my 5D. It is UUWA:lol:
But with what I shoot I haven't had the need for that and major vignetting.
