Um... wow!
The lighting on the second is fantastic. Just wish the wings were bent more or more level.
Maybe someday I can get my oppertunity with one of these white beauties.

Thanks, the first one where earlier in the afternoon, for the second one we are close to the end of the day. Not very much light with a 5.6 lens, but a very good and beautiful light. there are some more close to the same time.

So this is the end of the day, the temperature go down, the wind blow and after a couple hours outside, i'm cold to the bare bone. But the light was so beautiful I stay and opt for a perspective shot: very low, that exagerate the small bump she (female owl) stand on, making look like a small hill. Also the sky give me some speed also.

Thank you very much. Strangely, this is the first time in my bird photography life that the 400mm was too much for more than 50% of the shot. I miss lots of picture, wing croped, half body, etc...next time i'll bring the 5D and the 70-200mm.
But effectively the 400mmL USM is a very good lens.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. They're all so good it's hard to pick one favorite. I'd say #2 and 4, but again they're all just terrific.
