This might be a silly question but here goes....

I decided to get rid of my website that I had because I found it hard to update without Dreamweaver and it was more trouble than it was worth since nobody ever visited the site anyway.

I still have a blog that I update when I can and use it to show and talk about some of my photos.

I see a lot of people use Flickr and Picasa, etc and I'm wondering if it's for me. I'm wanting a place where I can upload photos to so that I can have a link and people can go see my galleries kind of like a webpage. But I don't want people to have the option to buy the photos like I see on some of these sites since I won't see a penny of the money. Is that an option that can be turned off on Flickr, Picasa, etc? Another criteria I would like it to meet is that it would be free.

I don't know if this helps but you can give it a try. I am still in the midst of testing it out :)

I just use carbonmade, websites are for when you generate a good population.

Exposure Manager allows you to turn off sales options and you can do it selectively by gallery and even by photo. That way, if you decide to sell prints, you can do so very easily.
They have a free trial period.

I think you can turn the option to purchase photos off in Picasa
