Inanimate Personality

For this competition, I would like to see those of you who can take an inanimate object( stuffed animal, play toy etc) and give it personality. I hope this doesn't sound too off the wall


Standard Rules apply:
Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR Camera
2. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size - Please see the Image posting rules.
4. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting - * ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.* Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & lens used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Have FUN!

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.
* Posting Ends - 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time Tuesday, Feb 24th, 2009.
* Winner from this competition decides the theme of the next one (and judges it for a winner) after this competition is closed.

"Egg's-cursion" to the beach

I had fun shooting this idea. For better or worse, it's given me quite a few ideas for spinoffs...

Arrgghh! Goofy! A dragon!

OK, I decided to play along for whatever reason...my rebellious 1D3, sporting a pirate cap from, well, a trip to Disnelyland a few years ago, spots a dragon woven into a Chinese silk gown that I picked up in Asia a few years ago, and this is the sad result.

Great choice, Flo. Ed, those bobbleheads were cool! Nice lighting & composition, and I loved the 'V' too!

Flo, I'm not a scrapbooker at all, but when I was wandering around the local craft store the other day, I saw some of their scrapbooking decorations and got some ideas. I posted my original idea for this theme (the breakup) in a new thread in the still life/experimental forum:

Thank you Gail! All the entries were creative and made me laugh. Allen's "Chuckie" did look creepy and had a life all it's own...I'll have one up shortly.


My original idea was to have a bubble gum bubble on the top of the hat (it's one of the things basesball players do: sneak up on an unsuspecting player and put a wad of blown bubble on a guy and then every other player gets a good laugh. The guy has no idea) but I didn't want to risk getting gum stuck on the bobblehead and I couln't find a ballon small enough perspective wise. I took a pic of my wife making the "rabitt ears" made it wider and downsized it to the right proportion then taped it to back of Hawk's head. I lit the whole thing from above front with a black BG. On the processing I muted the colors to match the hand to the face tones and used a "tonal contrast"' filter to exagerate the features and make it look like a caricature.

Congratulations Ed! Sounds like you went through quite a bit of set up. I must admit I didn't make quite the effort as you but I did get lunch out of the deal!
