CB Junior Flash Bracket "storage" question?

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried dissembling their CB Junior to make it easier to transport in a camera bag. (Removing the two screws on the handle....)
I called and asked them about it and they advised against it. She told me that it is aligned carefully, etc. at the factory, but I can't see how it would cause a problem.

By the way...I really like the bracket and think it works great! I've had it for about a year.

The CB Junior is a good bracket if you're going to use one. I've never dissassembled one though. Sorry,
