I like the scene and the composition, but I would like to see the man be a little bit sharper. I also think that sunlight on this building would produce a nice photo.

The photo doesnt look 100% clear to me. a bit sharper would be nice. Its a nice scene but I think it needs a little more substance.

The man barely stands out. I'd say try bumping up the contrast.

I guess i don't get it...Even if it was sharp, in focus, and contrasty. To me it's still just a man walking down the street. What is it you guys like about the composition other than the horizon is level, and perhaps he's not dead center???

I disagree, if the building had warm sunlight on it or even maybe a streetlight over the door or similar it could be an interesting picture, maybe...

If it were sharp, if it had proper contrast, then it wouldn't just be a man walking down the street. There is a certain balance to it, following the rule of thirds.

Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

I took a closer look at the image in an editing program, then wiped it. It has enough information to give a much stronger look and much sharper definition. The guy just needs to work on his technique.

Maybe it's just me. And I feel bad since this is your second post. So before I speak my mind let me welcome you to POTN .... WELCOME!

OK...You have a DSLR, CS3 and this is the picture you choose to post and ask if you got what it takes to be a pro? Well i guess if you can find someone to pay you for the image then you are a pro...

I have pleanty of uninteresting photo's that you could say follow the rule of thirds. I have even more photo's that would have been better if there were somthing of intrest in them like "Interesting light".

The guy is thinking of becoming pro and want's feedback...He is not asking if this is a nice picture of his cat.

I still say....Hope this isn't the best of the year with your Digital camera.

I have a chainsaw, That don't make me a pro lumberjack!

I think this shot would've helped if the man was walking in the opposite direction. That way, it doesn't look like he's cramped for space as he walks out of the frame.

I'll also echo the suggestions of the other posts here: to make this image interesting, it needs to be sharper and have more contrast so that it "pops". In it's present state, it doesn't do much for me.

hey

Thanks everyone.. then I put hold on the pro.. stuff.. too early !! :)

that shot was taken from a series of other shots for the same man walking down.
I was wondering if it had anything to do with photoshop? for the picture to be unclear.. (as you can tell I have the world to go)
It was slightly unleveled when I took it.. so I fixed that. But I guess to it could of be the lighting was not helping

what about this one?

1st photo: My question is what are you trying to convey through the photo? I thought about it and then gave up. There's not enough within the composition to keep me thinking or even really give me an idea.

2nd photo: That's the bulb of a green onion? Maybe not, I'm uncertain. It could be an interesting macro-type shot, but I don't find anything particularly appealing about it.

For both photos: Why? What are you trying to convey? What is the story? What emotions are you trying to stir? What memories are you trying to conjure? What is your purpose?

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.
