I'm getting this bag for Christmas from my girlfriend and plan to use it primarily as a travel bag. Thanks for the great review, and I'll add my $.02 when it gets here.

Just got this bag. Anyone know if they sell LONGER straps? Or a better strap solution?

Their strap is nice and padded, but I would like to have it longer (or have a moving shoulder piece) so the large part of the strap doesn't sit on my chest when I wear the bag behind me..

Edit: I keep finding different pouches and compartments in this bag. I love it.

I have used this bag for the last 4 years and it is the best I have owned in 30 years.... I would buy another but it is doubtful that this one will ever wear out....

I just picked up a UD50 yesterday and I looked at a UD30 also. I would get the UD35 if you want a 70-200 or 100-400 on a body inside. On paper the UD30 may fit, but playing with it in the store I would want the wider, longer UD35. Good luck, a camera bag is like a car something cooler and faster always drives by after you leave the lot. Mike

how come you switched to nikon?

I've had this bag for a while now and love it. I travel with one 1D body and usually my 16-35 and 70-200 with my laptop in the back. Works great. I usually stay away from the "body" pockets on the front of the bag because it becomes _way_ to bulky for me.

Now for the next bag I've decided I need a shoulder bag that I can put down on the basketball court, something preferably with a bright inside lining- tired of searching for black stuff in the bottom of a black bag...

Hi,

Well I went and look at the new UD 60 V2 a few days ago and to be frank I was underwhelmed.

I was all prepared to buy the new V2 of this bag I so dearly love but in the end the changes in the V2 bag were not compelling. The zipper expansion only expands the upper 1/4 or so of the bag... many of the nice details of the V1 UD 60 like the velcro tab that secures the bag carrier slide thru, the front inside flap's secret zipper pocket, and the interior zippered see-through plastic pocket are gone.

The new bag is very well made as are all TT products but the new attachment points and the bag-top's zippered expansion and the other additions to the V2 were not enough to make me say it's a big step-up from my UD V1.

I got the UD Bag back pack harness V2 ( which is VERY nice by the way ) instead....:D

This review was more than excellent. It helped me finalize my decision, and I just bought the v2 of this bag.

I got it on Friday, transferred all of my gear over and could not be happier.

Also, to my surprise, I was able to fit my 17.3" Gateway notebook in the computer compartment. It is slightly larger than a 17" macbook pro (length, width and height). Since most bags that say they will fit a 17" computer barely do that, I wasn't expecting this at all. don't get me wrong... it's a tight squeeze, but it fits, zips, AND I can get it in there faster than my girlfriend can get her jeans on ;)

Thanks for the great review.

Cheers,

Michael Faraci

This is a great review!
As is Ben J's review of a smaller bag--UD30. I bought a UD40 trying to keep my bag as small as possible for the gear I carry. Issue though--takes 2 hands to remove my gripped dlsr with lens attached. I find the strap less than comfortable with the weight I carry. (So I also have a Retro 10 which is more comfortable to carry.)

The quality is exceptional.

This is probably the most well put together and thought out review that I've read.

I have the UD 60 and so far I am enjoying it. I don't quite remember if I read this review before or after I made my purchase. However, I can say that I'm glad that I made the purchase either way.

I know the thread is old but the pictures disappeared.
Is there a possibility of re-uploading the pictures ?
