While taking a break from shooting some pics I accidently lightly bumped the barrel of my 17-40mm on a wall while it was mounted on my camera.

I then went to take some shots, but nothing would happen, and I was getting a "busy" message on the top lcd everytime I depressed the shutter. Turning the camera on and off did not resolve it. Neither did taking the memory card out and replacing it. After taking the battery out and reinserting it, all was normal and I was able to continue shooting.

I'm happen to say neither the lens nor the camera body appear to have any lasting damage. Has anyone else had this experience and fixed it in this matter?

Canon 6D & 7D. Panasonic GX85 and a number of ever changing lenses.

Isn't it funny. This happens to your camera, and you are understandably worried. If it happened to your microsoft computer, you wouldn't blink.

Anyway, keep an eye on it, and, when you get close to your warranty expire date, send it in for a checkup.
