@ JonK: Love the first train shot. Well composed. You have some wonderful looking green land to shoot on. I've got nothing but concrete and cars whenever I walk out the door.

Here's just a couple of test shots showing the detail it can pick up wide open and it's thin depth of field.

Both approx 50% crops and the only post processing was sharpness setting 2 in DPP.

I'm very impressed with this lens!

Time to go out and be creative I think.

Nice shots Jon (train one is amazing), sir_loin and Julian (looks like your son is fond of either 7D or 24mm or both)!

Thanks Madhu appreciate the words of encouragements. Here's more from today. It's really getting cold here in Dublin. Umm somehow the colour is not the same here in the web as it is on my Mac.

@Madhu:  Thank you. Yeah... we'll see how things go. If he continues to be fascinated by me sticking the camera/lens in front of him... I may look into picking up an old Rebel and kit lens for him to mess around with in a few years. Sure beats sticking him in front of the TV and watching Teletubbies all day long. :D

Well. Perhaps my son will turn out to be a much more talented photographer than I could ever hope to be. So if that ends up being the case, he deserves the black one.
