Playing catch up here with a few gigs that I am just getting around to. Akron/Family recently was in the news as the band that closed The Knitting Factory in NYC. They have a very downtown aventgarde sound that had the audience who were there for the headliners, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, scratching their heads wondering what this feedback drenched/jazz overtone music was.

I liked them a lot but I have spent a lot of time in downtown NYC.

AkAk is a pretty fun live band; i saw 'em before the other guitarist left, back a couple of years ago. some of these could be a bit sharper; i like #6 the best.

Yes, they are a fun band...different than most but full of energy. I agree the most of the shots looks less-than-sharp. The lighting for them was horrid...almost all magenta but fairly bright with some hot spots. I PP'd the best I could but clipping was all over the place. I probably would have done better with a lower ISO but my shutter speeds would have been lousy then. Something about #7 makes it my favorite.
