Shots look nice. Maybe try getting another angle; preferably along the baseline.

Good work and great action shots. It's funny, think back to your game. Your shots probably don't accurately reflect what you saw on the floor. Some of the strobed ball shots represent a stark daylight that really isn't there. There probably is a perfect balance that adds light, stops action and represents a clearer, higher-resolution look at the action but without looking like the inside of an easybake oven.

What lens did you use? Crowds and BG are really in focus as well. I'm shooting with an 85mm about 2' back from the basline and inline with the sideline. The bleachers are always blurred out beautifully. But then again, my lens is open to 2.0!

Looks like you've got the technical aspect down. Good exposure, WB and focus looks pretty sharp on the players.

Only thing I dont like is the composition. The crops are a little loose and you cant see the players faces.

These were shot with one alien bee at each end of the gym on 13ft stands bounced off the cieling, I am using a 70-200 2:8L. I set the bees at 1/4 power and shot the lense wide open and shutter 1/200 to 250. I have not had a ton of time to do games with the strobes. I was shooting ambient but kept getting the light cycles and motion blur. The only down side to strobes is I have to be more patient with my timing but I am trying. I would like to get more faces in shots and I have some from the court that parents really like. I only have another pair of games next Friday might unless the Boys go to regionals then the school will have me follow that. Thanks for the replys
