..to view your pictures?
I used to use AcdSee and it had a lot of problems, it didn't show the pictures as I used to see them in Photoshop, it had a lot of unnecessary tools I don't need, I just want something to look at my pictures, and I don't want it to take ages like it does in "Windows picture viewer".
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I use FastStone (external link). It works well and it is free. There is also IrfanView (external link).

I'm on a Mac but I'm sure the same will apply. I usually drag mine to the web browser to see how they will look to others online.

ACDSee isn't color managed by default, PS is.
That would explain a difference. Furthermore, if you are shooting Raw, I think ACDSee uses the built in thumbnail, which will be different from Adobe Camera Raw's interpretation of the CR2...

Fastest viewer I know is PhotoMechanic (But that also has additional features you might not need)

+1 for FastStone Image Viewer.

It's fast, color managed (if you want, because that slows it down), can display RAWs (either the embedded jpg file or the true RAW). Many other functions.

Adobe Bridge has served me well to organize and view photos.

-ZoomBrowser to view and cull..no pp
-DPP to pp, further cull, convert to tiff, tx to other folders
-PS7 to resize, save for web, sharpen, print

Browser and DPP came with camera(s) and PS was a $100. I was going goofy (er?) trying to establish a routine...finally i settled on the above. Partly because it was cheap and partly because It's all I need for now. And it eliminates a variable. fwiw...........

+1 for Lightroom. I use Lr to sort and view all of my images.

If you already have Photoshop - Bridge may be a good option for you as well.

Google's Picassa 3. It has a a preview function that run seperate of the main program. When you double click on a photo, you get a really nice popup that allows you to scroll and zoom through you photos, then pick which program you want to use to edit. Worth a try, cus its free.
