I love my ABs. But I've decided to give the speedlight a go since hauling the bees around is rough. I have the 580exII, the PW Plus II and a sekonic 358 w/ RT. I need some expert help.

The RT on the sekonic...if I take a light reading and set it will it trigger my PW and 580exII at that setting? what does the 580exII need to set at?

I feel so lost.

I need some help!

Metering the 580EX in manual mode should be no different than metering your AB strobes. The setup should be the same in both cases. All you're doing is replacing an AB strobe with the 580EX in the setup.

YOu can also chimp...:) I would start with 1/2 power on the speedlite. Using it at full blast 20 times in a row. The unit will shutoff for 20 minutes I *think*. Keep also in mind that using modifier (umbrella, softbox). Yo will lose a 1-2 stop of lights. So adjust the ISO. I have do ISO400+ with speedlites and umbrellas with 50mm lens on 40D for 1/2 body shots.
