Just bought this lens and really disappointed... Very soft wide open and huge front focussing / back focussing at opposite ends. I can't send it off for calibration as I work 5 days a week and need my camera. Hoping to get a refund or better copy on Friday!

Bummer. Mine is still kicking butt and taking names.

:D

This is a lens that I really want to get. I am hoping that they are going to update it now that the USB dock is around. Dont really hear a lot about this lens. Is it a hidden gem?

This thread seems pretty dead. For current owners of this glass, or prior owners who moved on to another brand, please shed some input on what you've found good, bad, and what made you hop ship to a new lens. I've been very happy with this lens as I got this used for $650. I could eventually go for the Tamron if the justification is there and the Canon 24-70 ii has a pretty shallow curve in respect to cost to benefit. Let me know of your thoughts/experience. In the meantime, more Bokeh Porn :)

I took this to test image sharpness @ 70mm, which I read was very poor at this FL @ 3200 ISO. Focused on the eye and I was blown away from the sharpness when zoomed 1:1. I feel this lens can certainly keep it's own :)

Looks nice! I loved this lens when I had it. It went well with the 5Dii.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
