Flash and Flash Brackets etc....
I have a 100-400 and have decided to get the better beamer....now with that said I have also seen it said that having the flash moved onto a flash bracket is a good thing to do....my main question is will a Flash Bracket mount to the tripod ring and still allow me to mount the QR plate for my 488RC2?

Secondly when it comes to flash brackets I am looking at the Stroboframe Camera Flip Flash Bracket and was wondering if anyone specifically knows if that would work with the RC2 QR Plate?

My camera is currently and XT but I am saving up for a 40D of 50D in the near future. Flash is a 430EX

I know if I go with a Flash Bracket I will need an off shoe cord too...is there one that people recommend over another? Is there a budget one that does the same job as say the canon one? I want to make sure I keep TTL if I get a cord.

TIA

fwiw, i dont have a grip and don't plan on getting one in the near future either

you can get one of those ebay off camera cords, i.e yongnouo, etc. they work fine for me. or for a customized length, i believe flash zebra (lon, who is also a member here) makes some off shoe cord. although im not sure about this. but you can check out their site www.flashzebra.com (external link)

thanks for that info...I stumbled upon a DOT LINE RPS Flash Bracket (that includes a off camera cord and shutter release button)http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ash_Bracket.html#features (external link) that has piqued my interest so I posted a question about that in the acc/storage forum to see what it turns up

and sorry to the mods for posting this in the wrong forum
