Hello! im new to the forum and just thought i'd introduce myself. names james.
been browsing for awhile but finaly signed up. i recently got a 30D with a 28-135 IS off of ebay and i really like it so far. still learning all the tricks though.

heres a star trail my buddy and i took last night with his remote. not bad for a first actual shot and not just screwing around.

I see no picture.

But welcome to the forum! Is this your first dSLR, or did you recently make the switch?

Also welcome, I was able to see the image. Very nice I hope we will see more. If you have not done so, you might visit the Astronomy forum and share your images there.

yep its my first dslr. had a old olympus slr way back in the day (10 years ago or something) but since digital i havent used it at all. i almost went with a nikon d200 but was convinced to get the 30d and i dont regret it at all :D

and one more thing, the guy i bought it form didnt end any of the software and i was wondering where i can download the EOS utility and Zoom browser. my buddy told me they wee good programs to have but all i can find on canons website are the updates.

Can your buddy not give you a loan of the CD so that you can install the software and then give him the CD back. I'm assuming he also uses Canon as you used his remote.

He (DDWD10) told me that his 10D didnt come with it either. darn ebay sellers. are they programs you have to purchase (im guessing now that it is)? i figured it was just hidden somewhere on the canon website.
