Jerry ~ Baseball is a game where only defensive players handle the ball and offensive players who hit successfully in only one third of their at bats are among the best in the sport.

No. 3 and 5 are both fantastic, a real sense of the life of the game.

Thanks Reflection. Spring Training is a special time of the year for baseball fans here. We get a chance to get up close to the the players because the ballparks and crowds are much smaller; however, the competition is still serious. Tomorrow is the Braves last ST game in Florida and then they return to their home in Atlanta, Georgia for the start of the season.

Outstanding images, Jerry. #5 is exceptional.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks ayotnoms. The kids really do enjoy this part of their day out -- moms, dads and fans who stay around do too. The other day a lady who had no children there asked me if I had some pics she could have to show to friends who'd never seen anything like it. The ballpark is at Disney World and I expect it's a Disney idea to get more families there so they can make more $$ :) . The kids sure love doing it though as this chap demonstrates.

When I get pics like #5 I wish I knew who the subject's parents were. Unfortunately he was on the field, they were in the stands and both were in large crowds. I know that if I were his parents I'd like to have this photo.

These are keepers indeed. I like the intensity of these shots.

Thanks rich59 -- I really like to shoot from the first base line and get batters coming out of the box. I think that and their follow through when they make contact often make nice, intense captures. I have a few good shots of pitchers just after they release the ball but most of my best shots are just before the release. I consider #3 to be the classic shot of a pitcher -- great for 8x10s but the wrong aspect ratio for vertical baseball cards.
