sigma 120 - 400

Does anyone own one or know someone who owns one and what is your opinion?

I know this lens had some bad press when it first came out but has sigma sorted these out.

I have one. It's not quite up to the standards of the Canon 100-400L but all in all it's quite a decent performer. It's a bit heavy but can be hand held in good light.
The only thing I don't like about it is the OS is pretty jumpy when first engaged, but it settles down and does what it's supposed to.

He could have been on a hilltop in the next county if he shoots a crop body at 400mm. That's a nice shot of an old workhorse.

I was on the parapet of the control tower. Excellent viewpoint if heights don't bother you. Not generally accessible to the public, but I have some connections.

Thanks for the reply, I am trying to decide on the sigma or the canon 100 - 400. If I go for the sigma as you know it is half the price which I means I can buy another lens and flash. desisions decisions !!
