Just looking for some honest feedback on this one. Thank you so much for looking!

I think it is an interesting idea that almost works. I think the spoiler for me is that the tip of the leaf doesn't have sufficient depth of field - perhaps stopping down to f11 or f16 would have done the trick. As it is the focal point of the photo is soft, but the body of the leaf is clear. Actually, it isn't quite as simple as that as the far side of the point is in focus, but somehow is difficult to visually discriminate. Maybe more dof or a different angle would help - my mind can't quite crystallise the picture somehow.

Also the top right hand side has a distracting background that would be better photoshopped out IMO.

+1 on the depth of field. However, that being said, the rest of the image is gorgeous and the B&W works perfectly here.

Thanks for the input, jgr! I went to try and re shoot this today, but all of my lilies had died. I'll try again next time and keep what you and Phil said in mind.

I tried looking at the picture from a distance and noticed that the highlight area maybe overdone making it lose some detail. But it is still a good shot
