For the prices they charge, not sure to be surprised or not

I hope Canon will not raise it's prices because of this.

Why would Canon raise its prices because of this? So they can go bankrupt too?

I would think that the ~$14mil that Ritz owes Canon is a drop in the bucket. I'm surprised they don't owe them a lot more than that.

I thought it was interesting to see that similar to Adorama's diving supply business, Ritz has a boating & fishing supply company.

i just walked into a wolf's camera yesterday. and boy, their inventory was pathetic. only a handful of lenses and a few bodies

mostly point and shoots and other small crap. Can we look forward to any liquidation sales?

Interesting. We sure are seeing a shakedown of retailers that have been on cruise control or are redundant.

I'm not surprised for the lack of lenses and bodies - those are very expensive items for them to buy only to sit on the shelf.

I think its safe to say they have never been the price leader. I have always received good service there, the few times I was in. They just never had the professional selection.

Gotta say, it took longer than I thought it would.

Out of all the stores in my area I only feel bad for one of their employees. He was an old school film shooter that fought the change over to digital, not because he thought film shooters were superior but because of a limited budget only working part time so not to screw the pooch on his retirement. He knew it would eventually happen for him, but stressed so much about having to buy a computer and software as he was barely squeaking by. I'd try to stop in from time to time to purchase something stupid to help out his sales.

The gigantic D.B. balding pony tail having artiste' manager for the past twenty or so years is another thing. I would take great pleasure in seeing that
