After at least three years of hearing the arguments for and against DxO Optics, I finally decided to try it over the weekend. My initial conclusion is that its quite a good program once you get used to the interface.

However, from my tests using the default settings I've noticed what I can only describe as a Dxo "look." So here's my question; is it possible to apply lens/optical corrections ONLY when processing files in DxO?

Ideally I'd want these corrections to be output to a DNG for further processing in Lightroom/Photoshop. But as far as I can tell, other corrections such as Lighting, softness, etc. are also applied by default. Is it possible to turn those off? And yes, I already understand all the arguments about linear demosaics etc.

DxO has a "no corrections" preset that you can apply to your raw files. Then just activate the Focusing Distance, Distortion, Lens Softness, and Chromatic Abberation panels. Export as a DNG and you should be good to go.

F the C - Seems like a big expense for lens corrections only. I know you use Breeze Browser Pro, it contains PTLens corrections. Or the PTLens plugin for PS is only $25.

Thanks...that worked perfectly.

I figured out another way which is to turn off all the panel on the Prepare module then turn back on the lens correction options. But that still means a preset of some sort will be applied so yours is certainly the better option.

It sure is; which is the reason I'm only "trialing" at this stage. BreezeBrowser does not have some very common lens in its database. For example, I have a Canon 70-200 f/2.8L (non-IS) and its not in the database.

I'm really impressed with DxO's lens corrections but the interface isn't very intuitive. I can see it having a place as a front-end to Lightroom but I don't particularly like the idea of linear DNG output.
