Striking model/makeup/apparel. A little fill light from the lower right might have brought out more of her eyes. As it is, they're shrouded in shadow. Overall, color seems a tiny bit cool. However, that might have been your intention.

I think some lightening of the eyes, tighter crop and some minor tweaks and adjustments. the shaded area is where i would recommend a crop. I liked the cooler feel of the image. I hope you dont mind but i ran an edit of your image.

What's the model selling? From the shot I'm assuming that she's selling the necklace (jewelry).

I went the opposite direction from cool desaturation to warm deep colour. May not be what you're lookin for, but it's another idea. Your crop should also be page height/width no?

Edit: updated image below.

Not to be ornery, Chris, but I thought the silver lipstick in the original was way cool. Warming the image takes away the effect, I think.

I don't think that people who dissagree with my processing are ornery :)

Some will like it some won't, and that's just the way it will always be.

Insight into my thinking:

When I look at the model as a whole, her hair colour is warm, as is the other make-up she's wearing. If anything is out of place (to me) it's the silver lipstick, and I would simply change the colour of it after the fact.

I also prefer my women to look healthy and vibrant as I'm not inclined to find ghouls sexy. I realize that this is again a personal choice :)

Edit: Looking at my edit with fresh eyes I would still warm her up, but I hit the image with a slight desat and took my own advice warming her lipstick to match the necklace. Clean up the empty ear piercing hole, as well as the stray hairs on the right entering her eye. Love it or hate it :)

Looking back at mine i see how cold and lifeless the image is. LeuceDuece, your photoshop technique is great. I like the edits. I definitely appreciate the warmer, more livelier, tones. Personally, I think the warmer skin is much more inviting.

Aloha,
John

PS: Racerman, were you able to receive that file?

I thought your edit was very good John. The final look that the artist is trying to achieve is entirely driven by the final application of the image. I processed mine to my own personal taste as though I was just going to print it for myself. If it was going into a magazine that had a certain style, yours may fit that style much better than mine.

Isn't artistic license a wonderful thing?
