Focus point in DPP

This is the only thing I use DPP for--when checking if I think something is off--and I love it. Does LR or CS3 have any kind of ability to put that little red box on your spot center focus to see where it was like DPP or is that a Canon software specific thing?

Nope -- that's fancy Canon stuff right there for sure.

While neither Lightroom nor Photoshop CS3 can display focus points; there are ay least two other programs that will show them.

BreezeBrowser Pro from Breeze Systems. Its based on the Canon SDK so the code is optimized for Canon cameras. While its extremely useful for most tasks, I use it to cull my photos...with the Display Focus points option turned on its easy to find those photos with missed focus, etc. BreezeBrowser replicates the functionality of DPP and displays it in a more intuitive, logical user interface.

The second program is PhotoMe. While this free program is primarily an EXIF/metadata editor, it displays the focus points used on each image thumbnail.

I use CP and recompose sometimes, the focus point doesn't REALLY tell you where you focused always.

You can check focus points in DPP? I though only ZoomBrowser did that. How do you turn on focus points in DPP?

Go to view image and then scroll down to AF point. Click on that and bang, your there.

Started with vs. 3.2, IIRC.

I have version 3.4.1 but I can't see this tool - can AF be viewed using the MAC version?

Yes. I'm on a mac (at home) and use it.

I have DPP 3.5.2 on both a PC and Mac.. I don't have a view AF point function / selection on the Mac OS version. Was somewhat surprised!

Press Cmd+J in the edit image window. Should work IIRC.
Does on my G5 (still have 3.4.1 on the PB I'm at right now, so cannot check)

I have DPP 3.5.2 and it's command J on a mac. Mac OS X 10.5.6. Under View it's an option.

In DPP, if Ai Servo focus was used, then the focus point that was used will be red. If One Shot focus was used, DPP just overlays all focus points, but won't turn the focus pt used red...
