This is probably the only camera related thing that one can do for little money here in Argentina.

You can pay 8.5 bucks in a Canon authorized repair center for a cleaning or pay 40 and get unlimited sensor cleaning for one year!

I've done that from day one..
If I sent my camera anywhere here in Indonesia, i probably wouldn't get it back

hahahha... i can believe that.... either you won't get your camera back, or they will change the inside with something cheaper... hehhee.. where in jakarta?

fyi, sensor cleaning is fast. If you can drive to on of the canon service center, it would take about an hour. so usually I go around lunch time, drop the camera, go to lunch, go to irvine spectrum and be back and have the camera ready.

The Irvine location is super fast. The front desk people are knowledgeable and and make sure you're in and quickly out.

So can you get a sensor cleaning for free if you're out of warranty? Does it include cleaning the mirror also?

Yes, until Mar 9th according to the OP. Mirror and eye piece require in-warranty I believe. I think they will also update software.

Samy's has had free cleaning of the sensor for a limited time in the recent past, so there is that option.

canon must open 100 more service centers, they've been making too much money.
