I would try that but with my luck the something extra-ordinary happens and the fire will spread all over the model . he he he

Lonnie was right, you are a dangerous woman!
*Great shot and a clever flame execution.*
Was this indoors?
How did you handle the burning cement smell and smoke?

 Thanks.

This was inside....my living room to be exact. There was minimal odor and smoke. Really. You'll just have to try it. :D

Will do. I was't too worried about the spread. The cement burns pretty quickly...like in 10 seconds. My next shoot we're either lighting a softball or volleyball in a girl's hand.

I will send the release when I get home. It was really pretty simply worded but works.

Your shots are just lovely! How are you lighting them as far as fill?

I'm only going to comment on the 3rd one... but I LOVE this one. Her body compliments the curves of the tree perfectly!

I'm sure you answered this before, but what flash are you using and any modifiers?

its OK to comment on all - gives me a baseline to whats good or not .. but yeah after looking at all the shoots, that was one of my favorites for exactly the same reason you mentioned...

To tell you the truth the day was hectic and my stands where getting banged around until one finally tipped and was RIP ..

Anyways all I have are AB's (800&400) and 430exII w/ umbrellas .. I had to take the umbrellas off and shoot with the AB800 - the batteries on the 430exII where acting up so the recycle speed was horrid and I'm not 100% that it did fire on all shoots ...

However on that set up I believe I had the 430 on cameras right about 5 feet away for fill light .. which I'm sure I was doing wrong because I don't know wth is fill flash and the AB800 almost to the direction she is looking at FP ....

Tiff thanks .. I hope that answer your question as well ... I dont even know what are modifiers and what they do .. about to look them up and thanks for the form ..

I love that you have no idea what modifiers are and what they do...and yet you come up with results like that. :D

Gives me some hope!

I like #1 the best, personally. I bet the model loves it as well. :D

My Cybersyncs are "out for delivery", so I should have them today. I can't wait. (Sorry; I'm like a little kid when new gear is arriving). :p

I like #1 to but the hair is killing me and he lost an earing, believe it or not, the wind manage to knock it off ..lol

Presto! Flamage! :D

Pretty creative and simple. I'll have to remember to call my alarm company if I ever decide to try that! Don't need the fire department to show up...

No post processing, all defaults from Lightroom, apart from removing a few pimples on chin.

But that doesn't do this camera justice. This does.... 100% crop , no sharpening or anything

Manish, do you (or anyone else) know of any good tutorials for balancing ambient with flash? Since I lose ETTL with the Cybersyncs, I'm going to need to manually adjust the flash. I don't own a light meter (it seems from reading quite a bit, most people don't anyway), and I'm not sure where to start.

The strobist blog is unfortunately weak in that area.

Thanks. :)
