Yeah, saw that. I just don't like the 50mm focal length :)

I'm hoping somebody does! I like the lens, it's just that having 50mm as my longest FL on full frame is a little short for me...

Regarding CF cards: Now when I have two 5Ds I want them to share cards. When I delete images I always do it by formatting. Is that enough to avoid problems with file numbering? Or do I have to format the card again when I put the card in the other 5D? I'm sure this is a stupid question. :)

I guarantee you that it's sharper than a shot at 200mm with having to crop down to what I would get natively at 400mm :)

Agreed.

I share cards between bodies as well (although not both 5d"s) and am interested to see the answer.

I format every time I put a new card in.

If you format in camera, it should be enough.

One is plenty for me. I'm not greedy. Remember, I'm still L-free so it'll be baby steps to get another 5D body. Plus, hubby would KILL me if I got another body within the next 5 years or so.

Once you get an L --- you will be treating the rest of your glass like red headed step children.

It's true. One damn 200L about 4 months ago, and I can't even own a non-L lens. I look at them and think, "Man, those are built like toys." It's not about the images, which are awesome from the Ls anyways, but more about the quality of the lenses.

Thank you! I assume you are all talking about formating in the camera you're going to use? Oooh, hope I'll be able to remember to do that. So, if I forget once numbering will be messed up forever?

Embarrassingly, yes. I like having two cameras and became increasingly unhappy with one being a crop, so when I saw a 5D offered for more or less the same amount that I got for my 24-105L I jumped at it. I'll get a big tax return in October and was planning to get the 5DII, but I love the original 5D... Also, it's very convenient to have two identical bodies that can share batteries etc..

It's only been a week but I love it so far. I'll get to try it for real tomorrow when it's time for the monthly photography meeting here in Trondheim.

I actually had 3 5D's at one time-- now down to one--- and VERY hard to let go of it. I used to only use full frame for weddings.

I am VERY carefully avoiding even touching an L. I've promised myself one if I manage $10K in photography sales in a year. I've got $9K to go this year before I can even contemplate an L.
