Some of my first shots with the 5D..;)

I'm loving that shot.

I went wandering through the woods with my friend today:

IMAGE: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3347/3640002805_f265e04a53_b.jpg

This is prob the saddest shot I've taken  It's of one of a bunch of feral kitten that my girlfriend and I found while exploring an old warehouse. It had some kind of problem with it's eyes, but the others were worse, one even looked blind.

aww poor thing, i love cats and this is indeed a sad photo, but a very well made one nonetheless, very emotionally provoking, great shot. Hope the kittens will be ok

Thanks for the comment....

Your unfortunate kitty shot is Truly sad....:( Kittens are very susceptible to eye infections and without proper treatment, will loose eyesight...

Great shots everyone! Glad I sold that 100mm macro, clearly I wasn't worthy, now that I see the portraits you guys shoot with it.

Am I the only one doing the Strobist Boot Camp II? Just shot the first challenge last night, a headshot of an unemployed friend who lost his job because of the global financial crisis - none other than Mr. Strawberry Danish himself: (I'm still laughing at that one)

Was a little kinder to him this time, shooting a ½CTO gelled 580EX II thru an eBay octabox to the left. 540EZ w. blue gel as kicker from the back. His friend Christina was there as well, acting as assistant and keeping the light stand from falling over in the wind. we pushed her in front of the camera as well:

While setting up the lights I did a total snap of her, just to gauge the light levels:

Remember me worrying wether my 50L was sharp enough? Here's an unsharpened 100% crop from that hand held F/4.5 shot:

Meh... guess I'll keep it.

Spook, these strobist shots of yours' are quite good, and man, that 50L is razor sharp. I would love to get my hands on one of those, but would be hard pressed to let loose any of my current lineup. However, I am thinking of working towards a 50 1.4. I really like your shots on your Flickr with the 50 1.4. Well, for that matter, I also liked the 85 and the 100.:)

And not to not mention all the other great shots in the previous, more than numerous posts that one can recount, great shots by all. Keep 'em coming!:D

Trip, these are some great shots. I really like the light in the first shot, and the cat shot is stellar!

You have a good copy dkspook. Mine is softer, but it also needs focus calibration so I'm about to send it out again.

50 1.4 and 85 1.8 are both great on the 5D, bokeh is better on the 85 tho. None of them can touch the 100 macro when it comes to sharpness.

My 50 1.4 shots (external link)
My 85 1.8 shots (external link)

Some are 40D, some are 5D. EXIF intact on all, so Flickr tells you which is which.

The 50L just keeps rocking my world. My Mate JP popped by last night to show off the nice sunburn you get from 7 hours of kayaking:

F/1.8. The bokeh from this lens is just plain stunning.

You are really making me cry....WHY DID I SELL MY 50L?????

Nice shots.

It does pretty well with just a little natural light as well. ;)

Very nice!
