Very cool, but I think I like the version that you posted on FM even better. ;)

I'm thinking of getting a 5d- what do people not like about this camera?

The AF seems to be the constant sticking point for most folks. All of the other lovelies that it offers overcome that single point of contention, however!

And maybe dusty viewfinders =P

What about 5d2? Is the AF really any better in that one?

How does the shutter feel? I like the snappy newer shutters, in fact the old ones (like on an old 20d I had) really drove me insane because it just felt mushy.

i guess it's the cheapest way to go FF, though.

The AF is completely unchanged between the two, which is the main issue with the Mark II.

I have another question. My laptop won't recognize the RAW files I produce, but it will recognize my JPEG files. My 5D came with no software and I updated DPP (came with 40D), and it still doesn't recognize my RAW files. When I plug the camera into my laptop it wants to open my images through Picasa, which is a program I never use. I thought I downloaded the right software and codecs from the Canon site, but I guess I didn't.

I have the same problem on my Windows-laptop - I have to import the RAWs with the oldschool useless Canon-importer. Lightroom doesn't recognize the 5D. However, when I tried it on my Mac, it worked flawlessly.
