When I put my 4gb card into my XTi, the camera says that there is a problem with the card and to re-insert it. Then I get the same message. Is there any saving the card or do I toss it? There's nothing on it so I'm ok from that viewpoint. Thanks

I have always formated in the camera. Most people do. But if you want to 'clean' your card or give it a swift kick in the rear, formatting in computer first then camera is the only way. I do it as a matter of course when rotating cards. - Duncan
