  • A number of issues that could cause slow performance have been addressed.
  • Pen barrel rotation with Wacom tablets now works correctly.
  • Photoshop now correctly recognizes 3D textures edited by a plug-in.
  • The quality of the results of Auto-Blend Layers (Stack Images) has been improved.
  • A problem that could result in a crash when pasting formatted text has been fixed.
  • A crash that could result from a corrupt font no longer occur


I haven't had a chance to download it and try it out, yet, but hopefully they get the performance back on par with where CS3 was. I was pretty disappointed by the overall loss in performance, given that they're now leveraging the GPU for some tasks.

Looks like that font problem I was seeing on the 64-bit version might be fixed. I'll have to check it out when I get home; thanks for posting this.

Well, just a preliminary test using the brush tool on a document shows significant improvement! CS4 is finally usable! Hooray!

Yep this is an update well worth applying. Speed in the zooming and any features that uses Previews are much more fluid and faster.
