Are they ever going to start shipping these things??? I'm waiting on buying the grip for when the battery comes out. I've got a wedding to shoot soon and I'm getting a little worried I may have to shoot on one battery!!!

Sorry to hear of your problem. I got my extra with no issue back when I got the body back in December. Call Calumet Photo on Cherry Street, they had them in stock when I bought my 5DII.

Just called them and they haven't had any ship to them in the last month or two.

Any other suggestions?

Ordered a battery last week. Online it stated it was IN STOCK. About a week later I got an email informing me that the item was backordered 1-2 weeks....

I have mine at Adorama backordered for 4 weeks now. It's awful!

I "bought" one at Adorama and B&H yesterday. Meaning, I put my name on a list... who knows when they'll get them in though. :(

B&H has them for exactly four hours yesterday and then the entire order was sold out. I pre-ordered one today and was told that their next order was due in 24-48 hrs from now.

That's weird because I'm on their "Notify me when they're available" list... Well, I paid for it now with them, so hopefully I'll be in on the next shipment!

What I don't get is why Canon is putting these out so slowly. I mean I'm waiting on buying the grip until I have the battery. Had they had the batteries, they would have already had my $350... oh well...

canon wants to be cool like nintendo and create artificial demand for their products.. too bad they don't realize that all that does is piss people off...

CDW has 15 of them coming in on March 10. I just called and put my name on the list to get one and the guy said there was no one else on that list. So, there are 14 more available from them on the 10th....
