I bought one of these today and although it is very well built, I am not completely sold on it.
Here is the bracket in question

The reason I bought it is to get rid of side shadow when the camera is used in portrait mode and it definitely does the, but now because of the positioning of the flash it is going to cause side shadow on the left of a subject when used in landscape mode although this seems the lesser of two evils as it doesn't seem so bad and most of my pictures would be in portrait.
The other things that worry me is that with the flash mounted on the bracket it is now nearer to the lens so is this going to increase the chance of redeye? Also the bracket moves the flash forward a couple of inches which may cause the flash to be caught in the picture.
Another thing with the flash moved forward, does that effect the zoom function of the flash in conjunction with the lens.
As you can tell, I haven't used it yet but I would appreciate any comments from people that have this flash (or something similar) and have used it for a while. Or anybody who can answer my questions/concerns
Many Thanks
