HI, I need to find out how to get my programs off my old computer onto my new one. I have fotofusion which is a download and a couple more that I bought and downloaded. Can someone tell me a way to get them off and put on my new one?

Thanks,
Teeny

As far as I'm aware, you must reinstall the programs on the new computer. There are very few programs that do not require installation - thescan be copy and pasted. However, these types of programs are far and few in between.

Gather the installation files or downloads, the serial numbers, and prepare to reinstall them on the new system one by one.

Most programs will allow you to retrieve the serial number from the help > about page. Write all these down and make sure you have the files to reinstall the software. You should be good from there to reinstall them on the new machine

Why don't you just use the handy Windows File and Transfer Settings Wizard (XP) or Windows Easy Transfer (Vista).

He asked about transferring programs, not files or settings.

Yup, you're gonna need to reinstall whatever else you want on the new computer.
