Can someone give me a comparison in performance between Breeze Systems' DSLR Remote Pro and the current EOS Utility coupled with a LR 2.0 watched folder for tethered shooting?

I saw one older post that indicated DSLR Remote had a much faster RAW upload time. Is DSLR Remote enough better than the current Cannon program to justify the $100.00 cost?

Thanks for your help.

I can't fathom how DSLR Remote Pro would be any faster than EOS Utility because DSLR Remote Pro is built using the Canon SDK. It uses the sam DLL's to talk to your camera that EOS Utility does. It's just a different UI over the same engine that EOS utility uses.

Thank you for the response. Have you used both programs?

DSLR Remote Pro is a far more effective program than the combination of the bundled EOS Utility and Zoombrowser EX. The Breeze Systems program gives you what you need for effective tethered use of a camera - a large image display on a computer, plus quick access to the camera controls you need. And there's a host of quickly-adustable options for storage and image processing.

Those operational features are what give DSLR Remote Pro its advantage over the free Canon software, not loading speed. The Breeze Systems software is worth its purchase price for the way that it handles image files. It's an excellent working program for working photographers, especially those who use the software with a notebook PC in the field.

Thank you DC Fan, for the detailed explanation.
