Can anybody tell me if I got the right filter?

Ok so I bought a B+W Circular Polarizer for $129.00 at my local camera shop today, but after thumbing through some threads on here about them, I'm not sure on whether I got the right one.

I'm pretty sure this is the one I got:

I've been reading specifically about these "MRC" filters and how buying cheap single coat filters might degrade your images.

B+W has another one that is described as "MC" here:

Why is the MC one less expensive than the one that's not MC?!? That doesn't make sense to me.

So can someone tell me: what's the deal? Is my filter "multi-coated" or not? Do I need to spend for a more expensive one?

take a picture of your filter with the B+W lettering and model. Tough to tell which you got.

I cross referenced the model number with the B&H links I supplied in the opening post - they are identical:

#62162 - it is indeed the 77mm Circular Polarizing Filter

Curious about the multicoated one being listed cheaper on B&H - cause on Adorama the multicoated one is actually more expensive. I'm scratching my head here.

I guess what I'm asking is whether the fact that the filter I bought which apparently DOESN'T have multicoating really makes it low quality. Or whether the fact that since it's a $129 B+W product - this doesn't really matter that much.

The main thing its not having multicoating means is that it's more susceptible to internal reflections and reflections from non-imaging light (light that hits the filter from an angle that won't let it reach the lens). This can lead to loss of contrast and lens flare. I'd exchange/return it for one that does have MC or MRC if the filter doesn't have that marking on it. Usually people remove their lens hoods when using polarizing filters since it's otherwise difficult to adjust them, so there's nothing to shield your lens from the "bad" light.
